> You make it sound, James, like Liberty actually has a 'choice' who they play.
They definitely have a choice OOC. Also, it was their choice to join what remains of CUSA.

I don't think tOSU can pass the SEC champ, Georgia (if not champ), the Pac 12 champ, Texas if they win, FSU, or Michigan. I see almost zero chance of tOSU getting in. I also see almost zero chance of more than one team from any conference.

How about actually playing a top 40 team. Best win is against #42 Jacksonville State, a team transitioning from FCS. Bet OOC win #64 Bowling Green, a 7-5 MAC team.

Assuming Michigan, Washington, FSU, Alabama, and Texas win, you would have:
1) Michigan 2) Washington of FSU 3) FSU or Washington
Based on past-precedent (not very meaningful) and the selection criteria, Texas should be a ceiling for Alabama and Alabama should be a ceiling for Georgia. So:
4) Texas 12-1, conference champ, beat Alabama 5) Alabama, 12-1, conference champ, beat Georgia 6) Georgia, 12-1, not a conference champ
If Oregon beats Washington, Texas would be in and the other slot would be a close call between Oregon and Alabama.
The SEC needs Georgia to win or either Texas or FSU to lose to guarantee a slot.
It would be wonderful to see the SEC locked out.

Likely. If Washington wins, they are likely #3 with FSU at #4.

I suspect he will be at Texas A&M next season.

Probably need FSU to lose to both UF and Louisville and Texas to lose.

Based on selection criteria and past actions, if (a big if) UGA, Bama, and Texas were all 12-1, the head-head results would likely be determinative. They would be in this order:
Texas (conference champ, win over Bama) Alabama (conference champ, win over Georgia) Georgia
They would also likely be behind any undefeated conference champs from the Big Ten (tOSU/Michigan), ACC (FSU), and Pac 12 (Washington).
That being said, several of the teams mentioned will take a loss between now and selection time.

How is Georgia ahead of Michigan? Georgia's YTD schedule is weaker than Michigan's (.312 vs. .472), they have scored slightly fewer points (40.5 ppg vs. 40.63), and they have given up significantly more points (14.75 ppg vs. 5.88). Best win vs. #49 Florida. Michigan has wins vs. #39 Rutgers and @ #46 Minnesota. Michigan's remaining schedule is also tougher than Georgia's. I used my ratings, but the composite is very similar.

The easy answer is to not play home games.

I haven't heard anything on that. It would work with 4 permanent rivals or 3 plays and 5 rotating every three years (5/5/5/4).
What I have heard is that FSU is definitely looking for an exit, but needs a critical mass to leave to dissolve the ACC and moot the GoR.
Now here is speculation: what if FSU and Clemson leave and start the legal process against the GoR. Then other teams from within challenge the GoR on the grounds it guaranteed FSU and Clemson. Finally, if the internal teams can dissolve the GoR on those terms, the FSU and Clemson lawsuits could become moot and everyone is free and clear of the GoR requirements.

Big Ten is not interested in Florida State. Assuming the GoR issues can resolved (likely by dissolution of the ACC), the top targets (after Notre Dame) are UNC and UVA. I suspect, by the time this is over (maybe a year from now), the Big Ten will have added UNC, UVA, Notre Dame, Stanford, Cal, and Miami (likely for the 2026 season). That makes 22 for a nice 6/6/6/3 schedule. I would not be surprised to see the SEC add NCSU and VPI (to counter UNC and UVA) along with four in-state rivals (FSU, Clemson, GIT, and Louisville) to ease the transition to a nine-game schedule. The Big 12 could very easily absorb Duke, Syracuse, and Pitt (think hoops plus WVU/Pitt). That only leaves Wake Forest and Boston College.

Big Ten will wait until closer to next June. They are going to add for 2026. The ultimate goal is 22 teams for a 6/6/6/3 scheduling format. I suspect the targets will end up being Notre Dame, Stanford, Cal, Miami, North Carolina, and Virginia.
