You make a pretty compelling case for the superiority of the P5 over the G5, and the superiority of the SEC over the rest of the P5 over the past 10 years. In fact, I think you just presented the strongest evidence ever. It's a pretty big drop to the G5. That's not "Media driven perception". That's reality. WHO is developing the best talent. That's a no brainer. There are football programs and conferences in every division that stand above others. However, in any given year, there is usually at least one team from a G5 conference that has the ability to compete with the best the P5 conferences have to offer. The difference is that in all other divisions, every team has an equal opportunity to compete for a true NCAA national championship.

FBS programs unfairly stigmatized as second class citizens "Stigmatized" by who? It's not perception, it's REALITY. Even these dumb players are smart enough to see "what is".

However, I don't believe there is ANY G5 schools that could go through a season long SEC schedule, and have enough healthy athletes remaining to compete with the best of the P5. That's what kills Kentucky every year. Even when they are able to assemble as decent starting lineup, after a few games against Bama and Florida and LSU? Half the starters are sitting in a hot tub. No cake walks to playoffs.

D-II = third class D-III = fourth class The irony is that second, third and fourth class citizens have an opportunity to compete for real NCAA national championships, and first class citizens don't.

I thought, the G5 teams are supposed to be the "Second class" citizens.. are you admitting that they DO have a chance to compete for a Natty???

Stigmatized by the Cartel including its media outlets. There is no such thing as NCAA 'G5' or 'P5' divisions or subdivisions. It's made up but casual CF fans think they are official classifications, because the media hammers on it.

Ironic that the third class citizens in D-I are the only ones who can win a national championship! In fact, any FCS team that wishes to do so has the opportunity to compete for the real NCAA D-I national championship.

I'm sure Saban keeps insomnia because his trophies don't have a certain 4 letters on them.

Of course you don't hear the 3 NCAA Championship division members complaining...because they are all eligible to compete for their national championships which makes recruiting more on a level playing field. Only FBS football relegates 48 % of its teams as ineligible to compete based on some made up, unofficial, two class system monikers like 'G5' and 'P5'...all based on greed.

The CFP champion is the champion of FBS, and cannot be the champion of anything else. No different from the champion of any bowl.

It's not stigmatization. It's simply a manner of convenience for communication. Long ago, people recognized that something was different between "day" and "night".. so, we figured out names to call them. There is a VERY CLEAR difference between the G5 and P5 conferences. It makes sense to find some way talk about them. G5 & P5 are pretty accurate descriptors.
