en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_Football_Playoff"The College Football Playoff (CFP) is an annual postseason tournament to determine the national champion of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest level of college football in the United States."That's the opening sentence on the Wikipedia site about the CFP. I think you need to go dispute it. It's universally accepted. Any other bowl that claimed to generate an FBS champ would be laughed out of existence. Wikipedia is dead wrong..simple as that. Agree about "universally accepted" just as it was "universally accepted" that the Earth was flat. Except back then, we didn't have evidence of the flatness of the earth, or lack thereof. With the FBS national championship, we have ample substantive evidence.

That’s ok. I have no problem with the winner being referred to as the CFP national champion. We have been living with D-I and later FBS mythical champions for many decades. No harm, no foul.

He said The national championship trophy....not the CFP trophy.

I don’t have any problem with the presentation. He did not say or infer that it was an NCAA championship. Hence, mythical.
