If that's from the NRA site, I'm skeptical. If That is from any other source I'm wrong about 'most revenue' and apologize. However those miscellaneous categories ( especially the contributions ) add up to 52.3% which is probably revenue on behalf of the gun industry.
As an NRA nut, what is the official mission statement of the association ?

You seem to visit their website a whole lot more than I do.

Why do you obsess about the NRA? What draws you into this?
The real power of the NRA isn't money. It's mobilization. Why do so many people think the NRA is some satanic cult with unlimited money?
Suppose the NRA were a public company, it wouldn't even rank in the S&P 500.
SOme NRA members don't even own a gun, they join to ensure their voice is heard and to protects their rights in general.

You can view the 990s for yourself at the link above.
Or, you can just assume the NRA is funded 100% by the gun industry.

So, cpa, what's your primary passion for the gun culture and its caretaker, the NRA ?.... home defense ?, collecting ? target shooting ?. hunting ? other ? . Trying to get a handle on who I'm debating. Thanks for the data. It's still not real specific ( my dumbth maybe) about the 336 million revenue from royalties, program service, contributions ( I'm pretty confident of contributions sources), inventory sales and miscellaneous 'other' revenue sources. Interesting too that LaPierre and his staff pay themselves 8 mil + a year ....and that's 3 years ago. As a paying member, do you have any say in LaPierre's salary ?

As I have told you before, I'm a very passive member. I pay my annual dues, and then if there is a Virginia-specific legislative issue upcoming, I might send a small amount for that to the ILA. I am more concerned about protection of rights than accumulating guns.
I mostly target shoot, it's entertainment - like going to a movie.
I have a permit that allows me to openly carry a fully loaded AR-15 / AR-10 anywhere, anytime in Virginia. Now, just because I can, doesn't always mean I should.

My brother-in-law has an open carry permit also. He was shocked how easy it was to obtain...easier than getting a drivers or fishing license, he quipped. When we go to Cabellas or Bass Pro ( same co. now) I stock up on fishing stuff while he loads up on ammo. I used to target shoot and hunt deer and small game and that's why I have so many sporting arms. Love to eat venison but not to kill it. One reason I prefer fishing - there is no kill (catch) and release in hunting. Anyway, thanks for sharing some personal stuff/thoughts.

But a Virginia concealed carry permit requires more work than any drivers or fishing license.

“They aren’t coming for your Guns.”
Well, except when they do .
The city of Boulder just banned ownership of AR-15, the most popular rifle in America.

A judge blocked a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines in the small town of Deerfield, Illinois, less than 24 hours before it was meant to go into effect.
The decision, handed down Tuesday evening in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Lake County, Illinois
Deerfield had enacted a law requiring residents to turn in their "assault weapons", LOL, or face $1,000 a day fine.
Glad to see we still have a few judges that will uphold the Constitution.

More confiscation:
New Jersey is telling gun owners they have 180 days to hand in their ammunition magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds or they'll face up to 18 months in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. The NRA is backing a suit against the new law.
Oh, you are not a criminal, give us a minute, and we'll make you and criminal and then confiscate your guns.
