I see a lot of chatter on here about OSU being left out. I just don't see it happening. I think the committee has determined that their resume at 11-1 is going to be top four, even without the conference title. There is no rule that all four teams HAVE to be conference champions. Due to unbalanced schedules / divisions / CCG matchups, there's always going to be a chance for an 11-1 team that didn't win their conference to get in and like it or not, OSU is going to be in.
Easiest way to fix this would be to do away with CCG's and just give the P5 regular season conference champs an auto bid + three at large bids to cover these deserving 11-1 team of teams that don't win their conference, independents, G5 schools, etc. This weekend we could be watching four playoff quarter-final games ON CAMPUS instead of these CCG's.

I agree - and a perfect case in point is Wisconsin. Had they been in the East division they would have finished 4th behind PSU, OSU and *ichigan. In the west? They get to play in the championship game despite losing to both OSU and TTUN by virture of playing on the weaker side of the conference.

This is the kind of crap you get with these huge conferences that play unbalanced schedules. If you don't have a CCG, it's darn near impossible to declare a champion. We'll see what the final decision is.. I haven't seen any of the talking heads on the shows. If Ohio State is in, then that means PSU is in too.... if they win. So, it's the OU/Ok St winner and the Wash/Col winners that get jumped.

According to Palm, Bama and tOSU are locks. Clemson is a lock I they win. Washington can't afford a close win, but are likely in if they win. If Washington or Clemson win, then either Penn State or Michigan slides in (he makes an argument for both if PSU wins). Wisconsin likely can't pass Michigan due to the CCG being the only quality win. If both Washington and Clemson lose, it is likely Bama and three Big Ten teams although Colorado might slip in if they win convincingly and Wisconsin wins the Big Ten (that would be Bama, tOSU, Michigan, and Colorado).

WHAT? Penn State couldn't pass Michigan by winning the B1G Championship? IMO, there is little this committee could do to bring more shame to this process than elevating Ohio State or Michigan in the CFP while leaving a B1G CHAMP, PSU, OUT! If they do that? I will officially sign up for a Blue Hen Conspiracy card.

Chip Patterson sums it up as follows:
Ohio State needs: Nothing -- apparently a lock for the playoff
Michigan needs: Clemson loss OR Washington loss (+ Penn State win) OR Washington loss (+ Wisconsin unimpressive win)
Wisconsin needs: Win vs. Penn State + Clemson loss OR win vs. Penn State + Washington loss -- [maybe both losses]
Penn State needs: Win vs. Wisconsin + Clemson and Washington losses -- and even then it's no guarantee

Well, assuming Clemson and Washington win, how does Ohio State have a better argument than either of those teams? SOS trumps Conference Championships? I don't think so.... I think Clemson and Washington, with better records and conference championships, will pass the Buckeyes And then that leaves the B1G Champion....how do you pass over Penn State, when they will have won the B1G Championship, including a head-to-head win over Ohio State? I just don't know how you say Ohio State trumps those 3 teams....how??

As 12-1 PAC 12 Champion, that should be enough to get you in... IMO, it would be up to the committee to decide which B1G team they like better...Ohio State or Penn State. the logic is just flying out the window this last week....people actually think Michigan has a chance lol ....Because when you lose your last game to your rival, that shouldn't prove anything

Washington is 4th currently. They still have a chance to win, AGAIN, and win the PAC 12 Title. If they win, they are IN!
Assuming Bama and Clemson win, that just leaves ONE SPOT for a B1G team.
Michigan is OUT. They have two losses, including the last one.. and, no title. NO WAY they get selected over PSU.
Between PSU and OSU? I think the nod goes to Penn State. Ohio State has a 'better resume'.... I agree. But, they didn't get it done, on the field, in a Head to Head battle. That HAS to mean something.
We'll see.... I don't believe anyone who says they "KNOW" what the committee will do.

Well, 2 of those schools will have better records + Conf. Champs....the 3rd will have won H2H and won the ConferenceWisconsin most likely needs a Clemson loss The ENTIRE deck is going to get shifted with Conference Champs all moving up.... For the most part, I don't think people understand the committee or the CFP Rankings It's NOT the AP or Coaches or even BCS poll...Ohio State at #2 doesn't mean anything except that's where they sit at the moment...Who do the Buckeyes or Michigan have left to play?? Answer: No one Ohio State at least has a chance if the dominoes fall right

That defies Big 10 logic... Maybe if Alabama loses, they could fit all 4 B1G teams in the playoff!!!

Seems to be 2 camps on this right now
One says tOSU needs help - if CLEM WAS and PSU all win tOSU gets pushed out.
Other says tOSU is in - if CLEM WAS and PSU all win, PSU gets left out.
Conference championship is merely a tie breaker for the cte.
ESPN believes there is a big separation between tOSU and everyone else.

True or false:
If Penn State and Ohio St were in opposite positions, there’s no way the Nittany Lions would be at #2 with a loss while the Buckeyes were in the championship game. It wouldn’t even be a question.
