I fully respect you and your faith, GG. This focus on Jesus as real....does this mean you might consider that much of the Old Testament might just be mythology ? I've got New Testament and Jesus questions too ( for example-was Jesus a white guy ? . There were plenty of Black Jews 2000 years + ago.. But For now I'll confine my questions to the Old Testament. Anyway, you might enjoy and appreciate a haunting ballad 'The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ' home recorded by Mrs Hen years ago. I collected it from an old lady traditional singer from Eastern Kentucky ( where the loving God recently decided to wreak pain and havoc on those poor mountain people )for a college research project. Those recordings are in the Library Of Congress. If I can find someone who knows how to help me do it I'll post it on here. Did you ever answer my question ?: Do you believe the instant creation story of Adam and Eve in the Garden Of Eden or rather in the evolution of species science including primates and man ?....Creationism or Evolution. And do you believe this Jonah guy lived in the belly of a big fish ( or whale) for 72 straight hours and was spit out ( completely healthy !) back at a place where God originally ordered him to do some God PR work ?
Thank you for your "respect of my faith." And no, this doesn't mean that I consider much of the Old Testament to be "mythology." I believe all of it 100% and know it is true. Jesus knew the Old Testament Scriptures during His ministry on earth and often quoted from it. The Old Testament brought forth "the law." But Jesus fulfilled the law. And I did answer your question above - I absolutely believe in creation. It makes much more sense than the alternative. Same for the story of Jonah. Much more believable than Jesus being crucified and then rising from the dead. Why would I believe one but not the other? When we humble ourselves enough to seek God, He will find us and the Spirit of Christ enters us and we can then see and understand truth. "I was blind, but now I see." Praise The Lord! I'm not sure what your question about Jesus being a "white guy" has to do with anything but based on where he was born, time period, etc I would say most likely no...if he had biological parents. He was Jewish but...he was divinely born of a virgin, Mary. So who knows as we don't have photographs from this time period. The only physical description of Jesus in the Bible came many years prior in a prophecy from the Book of Isaiah. See underlined text below. Doesn't seem like he was what most of the world would call "attractive" so I would say the way he is depicted in today's movies, art, etc is probably not very accurate. Isaiah 53: Who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
For He grew up before Him like a tender shoot,
And like a root out of dry ground;
He has no stately form or majesty
That we would look at Him,
Nor an appearance that we would take pleasure in Him.
He was despised and abandoned by men,
A man of great pain and familiar with sickness;
And like one from whom people hide their faces,
He was despised, and we had no regard for Him.
However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore,
And our pains that He carried;
Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted,
Struck down by God, and humiliated.
But He was pierced for our offenses,
He was crushed for our wrongdoings;
The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him,
And by His wounds we are healed.
All of us, like sheep, have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the wrongdoing of us all
To fall on Him.

Jesus was a real historical person. He is not mythology. He claimed to be God in the flesh and proved it throughout His walk on this earth and raising himself from the dead. If you witnessed someone like this who lived a sinless life, was crucified despite doing nothing wrong, then you watched him be placed in a tomb, and then met him three days later...what would you conclude?
GG, all your Jesus commentary is nice but it didn't remotely answer the question about the other religions of the world which have their own 'creators' and 'know it alls'. FACT : only 31.2% of the global population of Earth identify with Christianity and I would guess a significant less % would be hard core literal Bible believing evangelicals regarding all the supernatural folk tales and fairy tales. The question was .. How do you reconcile that ? What do you think about this 31.2 % reality ?
Another question , also. You seem proud of your multiple Trump voting. You are aware, aren't you ? ,that trump has clearly violated at least 7 of the 10 commandments that came down from an elusive Mt Sinai (via Moses) that cartographers and even biblical scholars can't find or provide coordinates for. Does this bother you in any way ?.....that you're supporting a non God fearing, God defying, chronic sinner for , perhaps ,the most important job on Earth.
I did answer your question...which of the other religions had a man who claimed to literally be God in the flesh, as I mentioned, and rose from the dead? Also, every other religion teaches us to earn our way to God. Followers of Christ know they cannot earn such a thing and it is by faith in Christ alone. Jesus loved us and died for us before we could do a single thing for Him. Furthermore, other religions have a bunch of rules to appease or satisfy their god. Followers of Christ believe that it is about a relationship with God. This is not a list of do's or don't do's. But when we receive His love, we can't help but do the right things, not because we have to...but because we want to. We choose to learn more about this God who would do so much for us and we want to show our thankfulness for His grace. We choose to follow Him knowing how much He loves us, sees the eternal picture, and has our best interest at heart. Finally, no other religion has a leader who died...AND CAME BACK TO LIFE! All other religious leaders are...dead. And for the record, I am not "proud of my Trump voting." I've explained how and why voting for him was the "lesser of two evils." Understand that neither Clinton or Biden are "God fearing" and are also sinners. But just like God using Cyrus the great to accomplish good in the sight of God, Trump also managed to accomplish good in the appointment of judges that would ultimately lead to less murders of babies in the womb. I hope this helps...have a blessed weekend, Blue Hen!

Neither Clinton or Biden are Godly individuals either so again, we are choosing the "lesser of two evils." And Donald Trump was the only candidate of the two that said he would try to change it when I voted for him over Clinton in 2016, and the only candidate of the two that had proven he would try to change it (given his judge appointments during his term) when I voted for him over Biden in 2020. No you missed the question. We both agree that abortion is God’s will, and even doing the aborted baby a favor because they get to go directly to heaven. He uses it as a tool, just like he drowned those children, for the greater good that we cannot understand. Based on this I wish I was aborted and so should every believer. Why vote to overturn god’s will? I'm not sure if this is a serious question or you are just trying to be snarky, but the answer is clear...just because God allows sinful things to happen on this sinful earth does not mean that individuals who carry out the sin are not going to be held accountable for their actions. If a Christian is persecuted and murdered...they will indeed be with the Lord for eternity. However the person who committed or enabled the murder will still face consequences. How would we know what God's plan was for a specific child's life before they are born? We don't. And thus supporting the appointment of pro-life judges is not "voting to overturn God's will" as you suggest. We are simply doing what the Spirit of Christ would have us do with the information that we have at the time. James 4:17 So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, for him it is sin.
Proverbs 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.

Correct me if wrong but you guarantee that Christianity is the only legitimate religion in the world ? Are all of Earth's people, past , present and future, ( Billions) that don't buy the old Bible lore and Jesus doomed to burn eternally in some Hell ?
Also, I'll try one more time : Creationism or Evolution ?

Yes, I am 100% certain that Jesus is 100% the way, the truth, and the life and that no one comes to God except through Him...as he personally stated. Jesus was not shy or vague in any way about who He was. I am thankful for that because he makes it 100% crystal clear so that we aren't left wondering how to figure all of this out. He makes it so simple, yet mankind has corrupted the message and in our own arrogance tried to make it much more complicated than it really is. John 14:6-11 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me." If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus *said to him, “Have I been with you for so long a time, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? The one who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own, but the Father, as He remains in Me, does His works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.

I'm not sure why you keep asking this same question as if I haven't already answered it...Perhaps you aren't reading all of the prior posts? On August 23 at 8:43am: I absolutely believe all of those things happened...On August 24 at 11:26am: Absolutely 100% certain. No doubt whatsoever. Earlier today: And no, this doesn't mean that I consider much of the Old Testament to be "mythology." I believe all of it 100% and know it is true. Also earlier today: And I did answer your question above - I absolutely believe in creation. It makes much more sense than the alternative. Same for the story of Jonah. There are cases where a baby is 100% non-viable, birthing would result in death for the child and a risk for the mother, and would certainly be more suffering on both the child and mother than abortion. Only an asshole would say no to abortion in that case, and Jesus wasn’t an asshole. Those who are adamantly against all abortion are not following what Christ would do. They are being manipulated by the political wing of the Church, and this political wing has accounted for many evils throughout history. All that being said, and as you already mentioned, there is already a religious system of punishment. Why do we need to evoke laws to match religion? And if we should do this why are we not as adamant about making other sins illegal? Surely the death penalty is up there with abortion? Help me find the passage where Jesus said murder is justified in some situations.

Honestly, I don't expect the government of our country to do so because this is not a Godly society. Abortion is the medically correct and moral procedure. Jesus wouldn’t deny someone this procedure. Your answer is to refuse (or now in many states deny) medical treatment, and instead pray? As for evoking laws to match religion, we do not always do that. Honestly, I don't expect the government of our country to do so because this is not a Godly society. But when we have the opportunity to do right, as mentioned in the verse I quoted above and as we do when deciding whether to vote for individuals who will appoint pro life judges that will ultimately save lives, I very much will choose to do so. This is my point. ‘Christians’ do not always do that. It is selective interpretation and enforcement. And this is not the first time horrible things have been justified by using the Bible.

I have no idea who these specific kids are, how old they were, what they believed, and if they had the opportunity to learn about and receive Christ or not. As I said, only God can judge. He knows when an individual has reached a level of understanding, when they would have or could have been mature enough to make a decision, etc. A grown adult who has heard and rejected Christ will be held to a different standard of accountability compared to a young child who never had the opportunity.
