The bad thing about the portal is, like BB, so many players don’t stay long enough for anyone to get to know who they are This and there are a good number of players who don't find a new home. So unless the team they left take s them back, they're done which is sad.

Wow - what a talented young lady! I cant believe she was playing that at 8 years old. I don't know much about Hillary - I saw a story about her on Facebook - looks like she fiddles and dances at the same time, which cant be easy. But that's not quite the same as playing with the Boston Symphony at 19 - that's impressive! Prost to her!!

I would not want to follow in Saban's footsteps - you're destined to be fired. Replacing the guy who replaces Saban is a better move.

I saw a video of a violin/fiddle player named Hillary Klug and it got me thinking about the young lady you used to talk about - I believe her name was Kitty, how is she doing? Last I recall she was at App State, perhaps?

It was quite alarming when Ohio State lost 14 players, including their starting QB, to the transfer portal prior to the Cotton Bowl. The lack of an experienced QB killed them as they could generate no offense and lost 14-3 to Missouri.
Since the game, I think we've gotten a sense of why all those players left - just about the entire junior class - all starters are coming back. Several like Denzel Burke, Emeka Egbuka and Jt Tuilmaloa were potential first round picks. OSU will return 8 of their 11 starters on defense and all but 2 offensive starter - one does happen to be Marvin Harrison Jr. QB McCord is gone but they picked up Will Howard from KSU in the portal plus Mississippi tailback who was first team all SEC 2 years in a row. So the players that transferred out weren't going to play and Ryan Day told McCord he couldn't guarantee he'd start next year.
So losing the Cotton Bowl may have been the best thing to happen. It left a sour taste in the mouths of the OSU juniors and they all want to come back to get a win over Michigan and those gold pants.

Root for the Colts! Surely they have a former Buckeye on the team somewhere? The Colts do have Trey Sermon but he was only a Buckeye for one season. He does hold the OSU single game rushing record - he went for well over 300 yards a few years ago against Northwestern. Still, I'd rather see CJ win.

I grew up in Dayton and attended many Flyer games back in the 70's. When I was in high school I sold cokes and hot dogs in the stands before the game and at halftime. We got 'paid' a hot dog, coke and ticket to the game.
Then I went to Ohio State and worked at Xavier for 23 years so Dayton slid to #3 on my list. I have to say the Flyer fans were downright nasty to Xavier fans whenever we'd go to a game at the arena. I remember they all came out at noon to cheer against Xavier when they were playing #1 St. Joes in the A-10 tournament in 2007 at the arena - their game wasn't until 9:45! Xavier won by 30 so it didn't do much good.
Anyway, Dayton fans are very proud and take basketball seriously. It's the only game in town (Wright State doesn't count) and they sell that place out every night no matter who they're playing - very impressive. I had 2 kids go to UD and they loved it.

Our daughter is moving to Singapore in early February for 2 years. Before the permanent move she has to do a 10 day trip to all the plants she'll be managing - she's headed to Singapore, Malaysia, India and Australia later this month. Not sure I'd want to take on that itinerary but she's young. Also not sure if her travels will ever take her to Korea. We plan to make the trip over to see her in September for her birthday.

Seems whatever team i root for, they fall short - the Texans are in trouble tomorrow. Maybe I should root for Michigan? What? Why are the Texans in trouble? I think they have a good chance to beat the Colts. What am I missing? Because I'm rooting for them - I seem to be a jinx to whoever I'm rooting for but since the Texans have CJ Stroud I have to cheer for them.

Ohio State was so close - I think replay cost them the game at Michigan.
As for Monday's game - I'll probably not watch it, hate to waste 3.5 hours when there's a chance I'll be bitterly disappointed by the outcome. Go Huskies!

I dug my Alabama hat out of my hat drawer and it will sit firmly on my head the rest of the day - ROLL TIDE!!!! Beat those cheating bastards worse than a teenage pecker staring at a Samantha James poster. I sure wish we could have done you better. lol. I’m with you Doc. But, just after the game…. You can hide other moth-ridden old hat again. 😉 I want to see my Horns win it all. I don’t know how much longer I can wait. And I want to do it with a SECOND win over Saban. 🤘🤘 I'm pretty sure I have a Longhorn hat up in the drawer which my son left behind. I'll dig it uot too and wear during the second game!

If by some miracle the Bengals go to KC and pull out a win, maybe the Browns will feel inclined to rest some players next week in Cincinnati since they're pretty much locked in to the #5 seed position and the home team can sneak in to the playoffs. They'll need some breaks but you can dare to dream. [ Thought the Bengals had the Chiefs in that one but the refs decided to step in so they didn’t have to hear Patrick Mahommes crying. I’m excited for the playoffs as Browns/Jags is a virtual lock and the Browns matchup well with the Jags…:…. I’ll go further and say the Browns defensively might match up as well with the Ravens as anyone. In the win over Baltimore the Ravens only reAlly scored 17 points and the Browns offense gave them 14….. the Brownies can slow them down. Maybe I’m a homer here but I think if the Ravens are going to lose in the AFC it’s gonna be to Cleveland…… or maybe Buffalo. Yeah, as I've seen it speculated on this forum several time the NFL has it's favorites and you wonder if the refs may get a memo that we want these teams to win. The refs screwed Detroit in their game on Saturday night and there were some calls in the Bengals/Chiefs games that were questionable. They want the Cowboys to go far and they need Mahommes in the playoffs so they can show Taylor Swift in the box. The 4th and 1 play from the 5 was a head scratcher and essentially did them in, the stop fired up the Chiefs. I thought it was a lost cause when Burrow was hurt but Browning made things interesting. Next year they'll get a last place schedule so I expect them to bounce back. Too many injuries and they never should have let Jesse Bates get away. They also need to ransition the feature back to Chase Brown who has a lot of speed and potential.

I don't know what people expected. You had a QB making his first start get injured and replaced by a freshman QB who had played about 10 plays all season. It wasn't fair to that kid that he was put in that position. Having said that, Ohio State needs to pick up one of the portal QB's because neither player who played in the Cotton Bowl is ready and may never be ready to be the Buckeye QB. Get a transfer QB to bridge the gap next year and get Noland ready to play the following season.
I'm more worried about all the transfers - I think there is something culturally going on that has led to this. Yesterday the punter entered the portal. Something is wrong internally.
