lol. I’m with you Doc. But, just after the game…. You can hide other moth-ridden old hat again. 😉 I want to see my Horns win it all. I don’t know how much longer I can wait. And I want to do it with a SECOND win over Saban. 🤘🤘 I'm pretty sure I have a Longhorn hat up in the drawer which my son left behind. I'll dig it uot too and wear during the second game!

If by some miracle the Bengals go to KC and pull out a win, maybe the Browns will feel inclined to rest some players next week in Cincinnati since they're pretty much locked in to the #5 seed position and the home team can sneak in to the playoffs. They'll need some breaks but you can dare to dream. [ Thought the Bengals had the Chiefs in that one but the refs decided to step in so they didn’t have to hear Patrick Mahommes crying. I’m excited for the playoffs as Browns/Jags is a virtual lock and the Browns matchup well with the Jags…:…. I’ll go further and say the Browns defensively might match up as well with the Ravens as anyone. In the win over Baltimore the Ravens only reAlly scored 17 points and the Browns offense gave them 14….. the Brownies can slow them down. Maybe I’m a homer here but I think if the Ravens are going to lose in the AFC it’s gonna be to Cleveland…… or maybe Buffalo. Yeah, as I've seen it speculated on this forum several time the NFL has it's favorites and you wonder if the refs may get a memo that we want these teams to win. The refs screwed Detroit in their game on Saturday night and there were some calls in the Bengals/Chiefs games that were questionable. They want the Cowboys to go far and they need Mahommes in the playoffs so they can show Taylor Swift in the box. The 4th and 1 play from the 5 was a head scratcher and essentially did them in, the stop fired up the Chiefs. I thought it was a lost cause when Burrow was hurt but Browning made things interesting. Next year they'll get a last place schedule so I expect them to bounce back. Too many injuries and they never should have let Jesse Bates get away. They also need to ransition the feature back to Chase Brown who has a lot of speed and potential.

I don't know what people expected. You had a QB making his first start get injured and replaced by a freshman QB who had played about 10 plays all season. It wasn't fair to that kid that he was put in that position. Having said that, Ohio State needs to pick up one of the portal QB's because neither player who played in the Cotton Bowl is ready and may never be ready to be the Buckeye QB. Get a transfer QB to bridge the gap next year and get Noland ready to play the following season.
I'm more worried about all the transfers - I think there is something culturally going on that has led to this. Yesterday the punter entered the portal. Something is wrong internally.

Seasons Greetings to all! I found myself in the hospital on December 23 and was released to go home Christmas Eve. I'm having urinary issues they're trying to figure out - not much fun to be sure but I think we have a plan that might take through January to play itself out - fun times for Doc! It was great to be home for Christmas and the entire family was over, which was a beautiful way to celebrate the holiday. We have 3 grandsons (ages 2 years/8 months, 9 months and 8 months) you shouldn't be able to love anything as much as I love those little boys. It's been a difficult holiday. My sister passed away suddenly and quite unexpectedly on Dec. 15 - she was only 55 years old, she went into cardiac arrest and they couldn't revive her. Our daughter announced she's accepted a job in Singapore so she'll be moving on January 15 for 2 years. I'm going to miss her dearly. And, as I mentioned, I've been dealing with this bladder issue so I've been in a pretty sad mood. Thankfully when I'm around the little guys they brighten my day. Wishing you all a safe and blessed 2024 - stay safe and give all your loved ones a big hug - nothing lifts the spirit more than a loved one's hug. Sorry to hear about your troubles, and your sister. That is a sad way to head into the holidays. "Sudden Death" is a real thing these days. Don't ask why, you could get banned from social media. We had our 2-month-old granddaughter watching her two older sisters during all our Christmas Eve festivities. She slept as much as she watched. But we still LOVE her... just the same. It is scary how much you can love someone that small... and, how much they make you WANT to stick around longer. I don't have any memory of my grandfathers - I was very young when they died. I want my grandchildren to remember me so as you say, I want to stick around quite a bit longer. My brother-in-law passed away last Christmas at the age of 63 - he had an episode which left him pretty much an invalid the last 3 years of his life. He had 5 young grandchildren and the oldest is the only one who might remember him. He's also had two more since his episode and they'll never remember him. My oldest grandson and I are buddies and I'm sure the other 2 will be buddies, too. I'm confident they'll get this issue figured out and I'll be able to continue spoiling these little boys for years to come but right now I just have to be patient and get through the rough spots. It's all about creating memories.

Hen - your Blue Hens beat Xavier pretty good a couple weeks ago in basketball - I was surprised by that but Xavier is having down year. I think they're around 7-7 at this point.
I'd rather lose than root for Tyreke Hill, he's a POS. I remember when the Bengals had Carl Pickens who was also a worthless human. I never cheered for him once. Fortunately the Bengals sucked during Pickens' tenure in Cincinnati so there wasn't much to cheer about, anyway.

I'm surprised by the career Noah Brown is having in the NFL. He was alright at Ohio State but he wasn't even an all conference player. His biggest highlight was catching a ball on the defenders back in the Oklahoma game back in 2016, I believe. He does appear to have thinned out quite a bit - he looked like a tight end in college.
Jacksonville is reeling and Lawrence is beaty up - the division is there for the taking for the Texans - hopefully Stroud will return next game.

There isn't a fiber in my body that will allow me to cheer for or pick Michigan to win a game. That being said, if they find a way to beat Alabama I'm going to be pissed because Ohio State beat themselves against Michigan, they had every chance to win and mistakes cost them the game. I'm also going to become a huge Texas or Washington fan, as well.
Roll Tide....

It really doesn’t matter but did no one know this kid was transgender until recently? If anything they or it will probably get a nice check to tell their story on Lifetime TV.
A couple days ago in my crossword puzzle the clue was Champion swimmer Thompson, all I could do was shake my head.

High school playoffs started around 1972 in Ohio. They started with 3 divisions and I believe they now have 6 divisions. Prior to the playoff, Massillon Washington High School had won quite a few state championships voted by the media. The legendary coach, Paul Brown got his start at Massillon and to this day when a little boy is born in town they place a mini-football in the crib.
Ironically, Massillon never won another state championship...until this year. They beat another powerhouse, Akron Hoban 7-2 in a defensive struggle. Hoban's last play was a 4th and goal pass from the 19 where the receiver got his hands on the ball but dropped the pass. Massillon finally won another state title and went undefeated in the process.

For a player who has never played in a meaningful game (for his team) most likely the last 3 months of the season. The Angels never finished above .500 with Ohtani - he has 2 MVP awards and hasn't played in a game that matters for most of his career. The Dodgers are loaded so that probably stops next year but what a joke.

Obviously I’d like to see him stay. But he’s a top 5 pick which should yield him around $20 million over 5 years. As a top 5 pick he’s going to a crappy team. But the same will happen next year if he stays in school. He could win a Heisman next year, I don’t think he’ll get it this year.
A big key is who will the QB be? Rumors are the Bucks are after Cam Ward from WSU - what effect would that have on Brown and Keinholz. They have Air Nolan’s coming in next year but he probably will sit and watch the first year.
Honestly, I’d love to see him back but I think his dad will counsel him to head to the NFL. I just hope wherever he goes they have a decent QB.

Dallas is a FUN place to go. Not as fun as New Orleans. I never had more fun than watching Texas beat UGA in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago, in a J6 bowl. The Sugar Bowl tickets now cost 3X what we paid for those. I won't be attending in person. That said, after doing some searching... I DID in fact purchase a $50 ticket on Texas in Vegas in September, before the Bama game... It was 24-1. I had forgotten about it. I buy one EVERY year.... I'm due. Just to go off on a tangent...
So what is there fun to do in Dallas? Just curious. If someone went to the Cotton Bowl, what is there else to do in Dallas?
We went to Dallas a few years ago for the OSU/TCU game and had a great time. We stayed in Grapevine at an air b & b and it was a couple blocks away from their annual wine festival which was a lot of fun. We did the JFK tour and went to the Stockyards in Ft. Worth. AT & T stadium was very cool and the Buckeyes won, all in all a great weekend!
