Not sure if anyone else (except Doc being a Reds fan) cares but the NL Wild Card race is one of the craziest that I have ever seen. There is one week left in the season and you have 6 teams all within a 1..5 games of each other fighting over 3 playoff spots. 2 Weeks ago the Reds were pretty much dead in the water but won 9 or 11. I actually watch parts of 3 games that all went the Reds way yesterday. My primary goal for the Reds was to get me to the start of college football. Not sure what it will take to get them to Oct 24 but at least they have a fighting chance. We have 7 games remaining with the 6 teams that are in the hunt this evening. First time in a long time I have been excited about watching baseball this late in the season.

The AP has decided not to rank teams until they have played a game. No BIG or P12 teams in the rankings. However 7 SEC are ranked all with 0 - 0 records.
The Coaches Poll had tOSU at 2 then dropped them from the poll last week. This week they are back in at Number 10. 4 SEC schools that have not yet played a game jumped the Buckeyes. They must now be looking better on paper.
I mentioned that this season is going to be very crazy because we have the ACC and SEC who typically play 8 conference games will now be playing 10 with the BIG playing 8 instead of 9. The fox pregame show was talking about this and how it is going to affect the SEC most likely in a negative. They will have 10 consecutive weeks with no built in byes and layup games. It is going to take a toll on the elites in the division as their is no letup in the season.
Here are my predictions: All SEC West Teams will have at least 3 losses with the exception of Alabama All SEC West Teams will have at least 3 loses with the exception of Florida The SEC will not have any teams go undefeated.
The SEC Champion will have 2 losses but will make it to the playoffs. The ACC will be owned once again by Clemson. They may drop one game at the max but will win the CCG Replace the above statement with BIG and Ohio State but they will run the table.
Texas will step up a bit and OU will step down a bit. The B12 Champion will have 2 losses and will be get there bubble burst if there are s 2 SEC teams that have 2 or fewer losses.

Did you see what they did to Arkansas? Have mercy what a schedule - they have LSU, Alabama, Auburn, A+M and the Mississippi schools plus the drew Georgia and Florida from the other division. They also play Tennessee and Missouri. They may wish they all got COVID by the time they get to their final game...Alabama. Yep, that's criminal. Personal foul, "targeting". 15 yards, automatic first down. Don't be bringing up that targeting call again! That was a gift

Things are starting to feel normal. Life is certainly getting better. Although the Bengals lost I thought Burrow looked very composed. Looking forward to tonights game. The Reds have come back from the dead and are in the bubble of the playoffs. They will probably get thrashed by the White Sox this weekend but at least we have some hope. I still watched a fair amount of college football but with the Buckeyes back in the mix it is going to make it that much sweeter.
Time to put away the COVID chatter because WE ARRREEEEEE BAAAACCCCKKKK

Brutal. They will be too beat up to be anybodies spoiler. I checked into the schedules again and the SEC plays 10 games in 10 weeks. Once we get past this week the football Saturdays will start to be fun again.

I have always thought it was an advantage to the SEC and ACC to only have 8 Conference games and compared to the Big 10 they ninth game played by the Big 10 was replaced by an FCS game. Looking at how the committee made it selections there was no repercussions from this type of scheduling.
This year both the SEC and ACC have 10 Conference Games to the 8 of the Big10 and 9 in the Big12. It will be interesting to see how the committees weigh in on this. Also with no out of conference games how will they determine how teams compare from one conference to the next.
I have also thought that in the BIG there were very few breaks in the season as most bye weeks were early on and then would get 9 BIG games in nine to ten weeks. The SEC seemed to spread things out more but this year it will be 10 SEC games in 11 weeks. Will SEC teams lay an egg similar to what the Buckeyes have done.
Alabama has UK between LSU and Auburn.
UGA has UK between BAMA and FL. FL has Mizzou between UGA and LSU LSU will get Auburn Bama the Arky and TAM
I can see a 2 loss champion coming for the SEC

Buckeyes had Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska originally in the crossover. Looks like one of those will be dropped.

Rumor has it that several teams have been not practicing for 4 weeks. There was debate if all teams would participate. I think the move to the 24th is to accomodate all teams.

Great story. We played throwing the classless tag back at them. Sounds like a great day to me. Pretty funny how they think Brian Kelly is some kind of saint considering the way he left UC and his typical response to blaming everything on other people when the go bad. Urban was was the epitome of class during his tenure with the Buckeyes. The whole Zack Smith fiasco was based on a report generated by a guy who got fired by ESPN. Then after he was called out on it being false he goes back in and changes the wording.

Leaks coming from both Nebraska and Minnesota are indicating a yes vote and a start date in October.
Here was my contingent plan
1) WVU - Son Graduated 2) Cinti - Daughter is an incoming freshman that had to leave her dorm because of covid 3) The SEC school with the worst record going into each game. Hoping for 5 - 5 record across the board 4) Whoever plays Notre Dame or Clemson 5) The Sunbelt Trio Ragin Cajuns, CC, the otherEERS. Whoever stays undefeated. I'm sure it will have no impact on the Playoff but I can dream. 6) K,Kst,ISU - As long as they stay undefeated in the B12
Updated plan
1) tOSU 2) WVU - Son Graduated and after attending many games there they still remain high on the list
3) Whoever plays ND, Clemson, Bama, ttun
4) The SEC school with the worst record going into each game. Hoping for 5 - 5 record across the board 5) Cinti - Gonna take a few years before I latch on to this one considering every Bearcat fan despises the Buckeyes
Scratch (Time permitting these will likely drop off the list by the start of the BIG season x) The Sunbelt Trio Ragin Cajuns, CC, the otherEERS. Whoever stays undefeated. I'm sure it will have no impact on the Playoff but I can dream. x) K,Kst,ISU - As long as they stay undefeated in the B12
