I hear you. They would probably be higher on the list but in most years they are a non factor. Their last NY 6 Bowl win came before the BCS\NY6 existed back in the Holtz days. Even when they got there chance they got waxed. Too bad the Buckeyes got NCAA'd in 2012 or it would have been another beatdown by the Buckeyes over the Irish.

That's the information that the BIG is looking for to cancel the season.
My daughter is an a suite with 8 people at UC. One tested positive and gets sent to the covid dorm. The other 7 have to leave campus to quaranteen. The girl got tested again and this time it is negative. She gets to go back in the dorm but the other 7 have to wait out there quaranteen before they return???
tOSU tests students periodically, my friends daughter is there and her boyfriend at tOSU as well. He tests positive with no symptoms and is sent home. Every person that he mentioned that he was in contact with is sent home including my friends daughter.
Took my parents 83 and 88 out to dinner last night. We went early and sat on a patio away from others as they are still a bit uptight. Our waitress tells us her boyfriend went to get tested. He signed in but the line was too long so he left. He was notified that he tested positive? Not sure if this was a true story as it was the second one I heard like this but as far as I am concerned the insanity is still well in play.

Looking forward to the list. As I have stated previously, I plan to start and number 1 and work my way down until I can'take it anymore. Knowing my patience I am fairly certain getting the top 20 should suffice.

What is the purpose for the B10 to wait 72 hours to take a vote? ? The only reason I can think of is that maybe they are seeing what the fall out is from the first fairly full week of football. If nothing bad happens and they vote this down then the insanity continues. I have finally gotten my backup plan for teams to root for. 1) WVU - Son Graduated 2) Cinti - Daughter is an incoming freshman that had to leave her dorm because of covid 3) The SEC school with the worst record going into each game. Hoping for 5 - 5 record across the board 4) Whoever plays Notre Dame or Clemson 5) The Sunbelt Trio Ragin Cajuns, CC, the otherEERS. Whoever stays undefeated. I'm sure it will have no impact on the Playoff but I can dream. 6) K,Kst,ISU - As long as they stay undefeated in the B12

Big12 did not do themselves any favors by scheduling that extra OOC game. 2 Teams took it on the chin. Better hope those teams end up in the lower half by seasons end. Go Mountaineers. Nice dominating win over EKU. At least the Big 12 played SOMEBODY! Better to lose to U La La than sit home and watch it on TV. No doubt I would much rather be playing than not. The BIG fiasco has been a painful process. The lack of communication regarding the process and decisions being made is mind boggling. The BIG Network has nothing going, why don't the just televise the meetings???

OU played a POWDERPUFF cupcake. UTEP will never be confused with Clemson, but... they DID play last week, and won against SFA. Not a super impressive win. But, just having a full speed game under your belt helps, I think... And, our game was also OVER by halftime. I was SUPER impressed with the play from Texas. We have a new Offensive AND Defensive coordinators. I think other teams aren't sure what to expect. For sure, it looked like our team was well prepared, and it looked like we had superior athletes. That's what it's SUPPOSED to look like when you play UTEP. Sometimes, in recent years, it hasn't looked that way. I'm encouraged. Big12 did not do themselves any favors by scheduling that extra OOC game. 2 Teams took it on the chin. Better hope those teams end up in the lower half by seasons end. Go Mountaineers. Nice dominating win over EKU.

The BLM politics in Basketball is clearly impacting their ratings. Remains to be seen whether it's a long term thing. Or, whether it's significant or not. Hard to tell with everything so jacked up by COVID. I have not watch a single minute of the NBA season largely because of the BLM politics. I can't support an organization that states it wants to disrupt the I was raised and the way I raised my kids. I did like what the NHL did. They put up signs in the corner that said "We support Black Lives". This I can get behind. I will likely watch the game tonight but if there is to much politics... I will likely tune out as well. Honestly, not watching the NBA has not bothered me one bit. They may rethink things the next time contracts roll around.

Not playing football is comparable to dying? Please tell me this forum was hijacked, and is now just a parody of conservatism. Pat yourself on the back for the hijacking. Since you have rejoined the board you have probably had 100+ posts related to covid\politics... and 0 posts related to football.

Just look at the extent that these politicians have gone to to invalidate Trump or remove him from office. The whole FISA issue should have resulted in mass convictions. I get it why people don't like Trump but I the extent that these politicians have gone to would not surprise me if this was all part of the plan. The latest commericial certainly seems to support my claim. I think you are reversing cause and effect. I haven't seen the ad, but politicians will say and blame anything on anyone.
If you think the only reason to cancel an amateur sport during a deadly pandemic is to hope to place blame on a presidential candidate, then maybe this amateur sport plays too significant of a role in your life? More significant than those who voted to cancel it, for sure.
If canceling college football sways voters, then I feel sad for those voters.
You certainly place a higher value on the sport than those who voted to cancel it. I imagine they voted on political grounds, though internal ones. There are plenty of people at universities who believe that college football is over-prioritized, and it wouldn't surprise me if their vote was swayed by this belief.
I never said it was the only reason to cancel but I do think it was a component in the decision.
Since you are so wise and knowledgeable maybe you should shed some light on why the BIG and P12 did what they did. Keep in mind the following facts:
The B10 Commissioner who made the decision for the BIG made the exact opposite decision for his son who plays for Miss St
The B10 decided to open all campuses and pack in kids dormitories like sardines because apparently that was safe enough regarding the COVID data. But putting athletes of these sports teams into isolated areas where they can test and enforce social distancing somehow is not safe.
Then take a look at the numbers from the CDC and look at the effects of this disease on these athletes.
The BIG has given is next to no information to why this decision was made and when you look at these factors yes I think politics played a part. However with your intellect I am sure you can enlighten us to the real reason why this decision was made.

See the link:
Pretty good read. Especially like the part of calling out his families personal decision to play and his professional decision to shutdown the BIG.
Lots of very good statistics leads me further to believe this is about more than football.

Watched 3 episodes last night. Despite the fact she likes to show off her boobs, I can’t stand, absolutely despise the daughter. She is a ‘C’ word bona fide..... We just got into Dead to Me. Did a binge this weekend and got through 8 episodes. Thus far it is definitely worth watching. At this time it is a top 5 in my book of netflix series. I did finish Better Call Saul. It was worth the watch.

If that wasn't enough to make you mad, how about these two stories: 1) The CDC is reporting that only 6% of all US COVID deaths have COVID listed as the only cause. 94% had at least 1 co-morbidity. Most had 2-3 other on-going issues. fox8.com/news/coronavirus/new-cdc-report-shows-94-of-covid-19-deaths-in-us-had-underlying-medical-conditions/2) Apparently, the NYT has published an article that suggests up to 90% of positive COVID tests should not have been listed as "positive"?? WTF? I can't read the entire NYT article, so.. I can't be sure. Just going by the interpretation in the article below. townhall.com/tipsheet/bronsonstocking/2020/08/29/it-looks-like-a-lot-of-those-positive-covid-tests-should-have-been-negative-n2575305?utm_source=thdaily&utm_Those are pretty big numbers... which point to what many of us have suspected for a long time. The numbers are grossly over-stated. To this day, I still personally know only TWO people who have been hospitalized by COVID. One is still in the hospital, and is in very bad shape. Going on 24 days now. I barely know more people than that who have actually had COVID at all, at least, confirmed. I know DOZENS of people who are out of work, have lost businesses, or are fearful of losing their house. For something supposedly so wildly contagious and deadly, the numbers have just never seemed to match reality? I personally know of 1 person that has tested positive and it was not bad for him. I have known a fair amount of people of someone who knows someone. Considering our governor test negative then positive then negative makes you wonder.

I have a hard time believing a football season was canceled to give material for a political ad. Maybe I'm wrong. When the BIG nixed the season I recall stating that this had a lot of political motivation to this decision. Now that we are getting closer to the election we now have the first add blaming Trumps covid "lack of leadership" has lead to the cancellation of this season?
This add comes from Joe Biden who continues to state that he is prepared to shut the country down and we need to have nationwide uniform policies to address this??? I'm sorry but New York City and small town North Dakota should in no way shape or form should be forced to comply to the same policies.
In January Trump Shut down flights to China. He was criticized for this and labeled a xenophobe.
In March Foucci and Peolosi where still telling people that it was OK to be out in public as Pelosi was trying to get people to come down to Chinatown.
The initial plan was to level the curve and when the NY mayor and governor went into panic mode, Trump provide all of the hospitals and ventilators that were needed. Even then the New Yorkers still send covid positive patients back to assisted care facilities???
Trump has done an incredibly good job beefing up test, getting ventilators, and accelerating a vaccine.
So what is Biden response??? He is essentially going to do the exact same thing as Trump but will double testing???
The only real criticism that I have heard on Trump is that he did not encourage the usage of masks soon enough and that one is debatable considering we were initially told that masks won't help.
Oh well just needed to get that one off my chest but when I saw the NCAA commercial I just about lost it.

Just an update, my brother-in-law passed away this past Wednesday night. He put up a great fight but his cancer was relentless. I didn't realize it but when his cancer returned about 3 years ago they gave him 2-3 months to live, they never really made that public. He was a great guy and will certainly be missed by many. Another example of why I plan to retire in 15 months. I'll be 63, the same age he was when he passed. Just before his cancer resurfaced he and my wife's sister completed their happy home along the Ohio River by Belterra Casino in Indiana. They spent every weekend there - it was their happy place, then the cancer returned. Now he's gone and my wife's sister said yesterday that she doesn't know when she'll be up to going back by herself. Just so sad. Sorry about your loss. Cancer is a horrible thing.
