The committee was charged to pick the "four BEST teams". Basically, that means the 4 teams viewers really want to see play. If this was the case, why was tOSU not part of the discussion. tOSU won 1 close game on the road vs ND. They lost to ttun in the waning minutes. ttun, PSU, and tSOU all went through the season with out a scare other when they played each other outside of ND. BAMA struggled mightily against aTm, a very bad Arky team, and were gifted a win the last game of the season against Auburn. They lost at home by 10 to Texas. The win over UGA was nice but then again UGA struggled against soCar, Auburn, and GT. Is it really the 4 best teams or the 4 teams who ESPN decides to lobby for. Just another reason that for me to think that the CFP is a fraud.

One of my daughters very good friend who is graduating this week from Ohio State won't be able to attend because of recent health issues. A few weeks back she felt her heart fluttering and was getting tired very easily. She ended up going to the hospital to find out that her heart was enlarged and was running at 15%. She now has to wear a body suit that will shock her heart in the event that it stops. She is still getting further tests to hopefully find the cause and a remedy. According to the doctors she was told that the likely causes were either an inflammatory infection, genetics, or the vaccine. She is very scared and asked for anyone who believes in God to say prayers for her.
I spent a lot of time trying to find data on the risks of covid for myself and my family. I do know that the risks of covid on healthy 19 year old kids is minimal. Unfortunately for Maddie, the Ohio State University forced all the students to take the shots if they wanted to continue their education. Three years later she is now in the hospital scared for her life. Was the vaccine the cause? We do know for sure but we do know that myocarditis is a potential side effect from the vaccine.
The vaccine is out there for those who want. If you feel it is in your best interest based on your age and current health status then by all means you should get it. Unfortunately the vaccine was forced on people by our univeristies, military, and corporations. Both my daughter and I had to go through hoops with petitions excessive testing... to not get the vaccine. It should have never ever come to that when making the decision to get the vaccine.

Great. FSU doesn’t get their way, so they decide to blow the whole thing up? Why couldn’t they just wait one more year? Problem solved I applaud FSU for what they are doing which is exposing the fraud that the committee is. Before championship week, FSU was 3, Texas was 4, Bama was 5. What exactly did Texas do that would justify them jumping FSU. Travis was injured several weeks earlier but still remained ahead of Texas. Texas did beat a 3 loss team more handily in the CCG but FSU still beat a higher ranked team by 10 points. They also did it with their 3rd string QB. The committee knew the second string was coming back for the CFP but somehow only focused on the ist string QB injury. There is not a single argument that anyone can make that would justify a 1 loss Texas to jump a 0 loss FSU. So what does the committee do. They make it all about FSU and Alabama. Texas is not even part of the discussion. What the committee did is just plain sickening.

FWIW, the consensus of all these assorted mythical computer and voted systems was that Ohio State was one of the 4 'best' masseyratings.com/ranksYep. If they wanted the best 4 teams tOSU should have been in ahead of Bama. Bama had way way too many close calls including rivalry week to be taken of the tOSU which the computers agree with.
If they want the 4 teams that truly deserved to be in then it should have been ttun, UW, FSU, and possibly Texas based on winning a conference title and beating BAMA.
What they got was 4 teams that were selected based on ESPN enormous power in terms of influence and which the committee caved. Can't have a true National Championship without FSU in the mix. With that being said I am pulling for Washington to win the post season exhibition tournament.

Got an NCAA D1 quarter-final tonight with Furman trying to hang with #2 seed Montana (9:00 espn2) and 2 quarter final games tomorrow ( both on one of the ESPN channels). Very Bizarre , but the winners will advance to the final four without a single committee meeting or vote.
And then there's Army-Navy on Saturday. I so admire those student athletes. Also very bizarre having two entire rosters of kids with 3 digit IQs who can speak in complete and coherent sentences, and have legitimate classes and majors and , of course, are committed to serve our nation's defense. The hardest part of the day for football players at places like Alabama is football practice. The easiest part of the day for military academy players is football practice.
Sure would have been nice to have my team participate but then again we did lose to the number team in the country by 6 points on the road with a chance to win at the end. Clearly more deserving teams were able to make. Bama lost at home by 10 points but that eye test clearly made them the more deserving team.

Just trying to gauge how Ohio State fans feel about their Bowl game Not excited at all. It will almost like watching the spring game. We will be without 75% of our offensive skill players and playing Mizzou does not excite anyone.

McCord never appeared to have fun the entire season. I’m not sure he enjoyed the pressure of being Ohio States QB. And following Stroud, the expectations were far more than he could deliver. Not sure what’s next but OSU has had 12 players enter the portal so they’ll be a lot of new faces in Columbus next year. McCord talking with Nebraska. Currently rated 13 best in the portal Cameron Ward of Wazzu list as the second best is being targeted by tOSU.

Best team and injury arguments are worthless and apply nowhere in sports. Even with the awful committee format, the only question that should matter when comparing teams is which teams get more value for their actual game results. Yep, completely agree but unfortunately this is common practice in the selection process. Whenever there has been an opportunity for the committee to get an additional spot for the SEC, they always come through. In 2017 we had a 2 loss tOSU team that won the Big 10. We had a 1 loss Alabama team that got shelacked in their final game against Auburn and did not play in the SEC CCG. The argument that season was the BAMA had a lot of players that were injured that would be available for the playoff and awarded them the spot. Losing late was not an issue that year. This year by far and away worse. 2 Conference Champs 1 with no losses and the other withe 1 loss. The 1 loss BAMA team who was granted supreme status struggled mightly early on against aTm winning by 3 and Arky (SEC Bottom feeder by 6). Then at the end of the season the were grant a gift victory by Auburn. Pretty amazing how this information was completely overlooked. The eye test sure is something else. Evil I really do feel bad for you. This whole process is a sham.

Do the Buckeyes have another Manning coming in? Air Noland will be coming in next year. Very highly recruited. Who knows maybe we will go after Arch Manning. Not sure what Manning status is or how he performed this year but I did hear he was considering the Portal.

I’m not questioning who should or shouldn’t be in but think about this…. Florida State was #4 going into championship week. Texas was #7. Florida State beat the #14 team with their 3rd string qb while Texas beat the #18 team. What happens? Texas jumps to #3 while FSU drops to #5. Texas jumped 4 spots beating a lower ranked team than FSU beat. How does this happen? Well, the committee HAD to get Alabama in and couldn’t do it without Texas due to their head to head game in September. It’s that simple. As Hero said, I’m surprised Georgia didn’t get a bid but that couldn’t happen due to the Bama loss to Texas - if Bama had to be in, so did Texas. I’ll add this - look at the non-conference games played by FSU and Michigan - not even close. Each team had a different set of criteria. The week before during rivalry week Florida St beats Florida (5 - 7) by 9 UGA beats GT (6 - 6) by 8 BAMA beats Auburn (6 - 6) with a hail mary plus the gift of a dropped punt in the final minutes. Considering Auburn took one on the chin 31 - 10 from NM St makes this one even worse. All 3 wins were very unimpressive although FSU was the only team to win by more than 1 score. Then we move to the SEC CCG. It is promoted as these 2 Juggernauts that that are far superior to the rest of the competition battling it out in a slugfest. Somehow BAMA survives with a 3 point win. Now we have all of the ESPN\SEC pundits talk about how great both teams are and if it is truly the best 4 both should be in. During their endless babbling all they can talk about is how FSU is just a fraction of the team it was without it's starting QB Travis. Then they look at the previous few games without Travis and point out all of their deficiencies. Here is what they chose not to point out: 1) FSU was down to their 3rd string QB and would have had Rodemaker back for the CFP 2) Looking at the scores from the prior week (Championship week) FSU out performed both UGA and BAMA 3) BAMA needed an absolute miracle to beat a not very good Auburn team during rivalry week (that lost to NM St 31 - 10 the week before ) 4) BAMA actually lost a game by double digits at home earlier in the year. On a final note, why was tOSU not even considered in any of the discussions. They lost 1 game on the road to the #1 team in the country and were driving with the ball for the lead until the interception. ND was a close game on the road but that was it. UGA and Bama had many close calls which is omitted in the lobbying phase. That being said I don't think that tOSU deserves to be in but neither does BAMA. FSU was bent over and told to squeel like a piggy by the SEC\ESPN selection process. In support of Hen's position, this is truly an exhibition because without FSU in the mix we will never know who the best team really was.

Unbelievable. Pretty amazing watching the just hammer FSU the last couple of weeks. Yet BAMA largely won against Auburn not because they were the better team but Auburn could not field a punt nor defend a hail mary. Again this was Auburn who just got destroyed by NM St.

Why would it be a lose-lose situation? Three undefeated P5 champions. Then, you are comparing two 12-1 conference champions with a head-head result for a tie-breaker. Seems pretty simple. Rose: Michigan-Texas Sugar: UW-FSU Not a legitimate championship without the SEC involved. Bama laid an egg at home against Texas. Then both Bama and UGA went down to the wire versus Auburn that lost to NM St by 21 home. And finally head to head ACC was 6 - 4 4 against the SEC. The SEC has not earned the right to participate in this post season exhibition but I am sure the ESPN network will do the necessary lobbying to make sure the have a seat at the table.

I hate ttun and would love to see those cheaters lose. That being said and considering the are 20+ point favorite then go Noles. Nothing would be more fitting to me than to see the SEC on the outside. Pretty sure the late night ESPN pundits will be hammering home why both UGA and Bama should both be in. At the end of the day if both FSU and ttun win both UGA and BAMA should be demoted to NY6 purgatory as 25% of players will chose to sit out in a completely useless exhibition game.

I swear, it feels more political this year than ever before.
They really don't want FSU in the playoff, especially at the expense of one of their SEC baby-darlings Georgia or Alabama
Kirk Herbstreit: "it should be the best 4 teams"...this after years of "resume, resume, resume"
Reese Davis, before the show ended: "FSU and Louisville is the first CFP ranked team each will face." Cmon weasel boy, FSU played #5 LSU in week 1, when all the SEC honks and shills were talking about how good the LSU defense was going to be
Heather Dinich put out a predicted CFP Poll earlier with Oregon ahead of FSU lol, and of course Paul Finebaum has been spewing his trash, even saying Georgia should still be in if they lose
When the resumes don't support the SEC, the argument becomes "FOUR BEST TEAMS"
McElroy is right, we've NEVER said "Four Best Teams". It has always been a mix of factors, but primarily resume and records.
It's shocking to see how biased and shill-like ESPN has become.
It probably feels more political because now it is having a direct impact on your team. Every year this time of year you will see the ESPN\SEC Network have a continuous barrage of arguments justify why any SEC in contention deserves to be in. And typically, the committee using these arguments in there justification. I watch very little ESPN this year but did here them talked about how both the P12 and SEC were far better than the other conferences but fail to recognize how poorly they did in their OOC schedule. It's a complete joke. Next year will be different with 12 team. But then again there will be the standard SEC push to get as many SEC teams in as possible. Had we had a 12 team format this year I would fully expect endless arguments to why Mizzou, Ole Miss, and LSU need to make the field. This is the most asinine selection process for the post season in any sport and there not even a close second.

UGA and Bama are tied atop the Hen 'Eye Ball' rankings. Now, the 'resume' rankings yield something else. And AUfan, a DPI without an SEC team would be fine and just if another network owned the event but with ESPN it would be treason. The SEC dominates the DPI for a reason. Leaving an SEC team out this year would not be based on merit, but disliking the past dominance. I would be on board if the people thinking the SEC should be left out have their real reasoning, they are sick of the SEC dominance and want a non-SEC team to win. SEC sure wasn't horrendous in OOC matchups this year. Clearly laid eggs in the 2 most prominent OOC games of the year. LSU gets throttled by FSU BAMA taken down at home by 10 by Texas Florida's offense was a complete no show vs Utah and FSU tAm lost to Miami (this was early on but both teams were ranked) Oh and lets not leave out there other notable loss. Auburn completely thrashed by NM st (a team that had both UGA and BAMA on the ropes.) So what is the SEC hang their hats on UK over Louisville Ole Miss over Arizona
